Currently both of the main political parties try to show they're tough on border protection.
So much so that they have lost sight of the plights of people trying to get to Australia in rickety boats.
Australians shouldn't be afraid of boat people trying to find a better life in this country, and should stop listening to the media and political hype surrounding this issue.
That's why we have formed the political party Detainee Awareness Rights Team (DART).
It's our goal to raise awareness of the boat people, their humanitarian rights, and their stories.
